Priyanka Chopra for Ritu Kumar 2008
I loved Priyanka. I really did. After seeing her in ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ especially, I started to think of her as my favorite Indian actress. There is something that seemed very classy and beautiful about her.
Well, when I started working on the set of ‘Dostana’ this past year, I was super excited to meet her. Needless to say, she turned out to have one of the worst attitudes I have ever seen from an actor. In comparison to the men of the set (John Abraham, Abishekh Bachchan and Bobby Deol), she was definitely the most rude. Sure, the rumors are true that Abishekh can be really mean, but a lot of people don’t realize that it’s his humor and end up mistaking his sarcasm and brusque tone for being rude. He is actually quite nice. Well even if her excuse was being amongst the boys on set and having to put up a “tough exterior” per se, there was no excuse when Bipasha Basu and Aishwarya Rai visited the set. Her tone and demeanor still did not change and she definitely was not the cutest in the room anymore (Bipasha in person is one of the most gorgeous people you will ever see).
Needless to say, I am not really a fan of hers anymore. Gorgeous? Yes. But there is a quote that says something along the lines of, your true character comes out and is measured by the way you treat those inferior to you, not superior to you. (I was on the crew and i’m sure counted as inferior to her). I love her and if I worked with her on another movie, I would love to see a different personality from her and change my opinion of her. Till then..
